PSV will look to make a flying start to the season when they welcome Emmen to their Philips Stadion on Matchday 1.
PSV did well to shock Ajax (5-3) in the Dutch Super Cup at the weekend, with summer signing Xavi Simmons opening his goal-scoring account.
The 19-year-old midfielder is pushing for a start, while returnee Luuk De Jong is widely expected to lead the line for the title-chasing hosts.
Yet another man to watch in the home team will be Guus Til, who scored a hat-trick in the Super Cup.
Emmen’s main goal, on the other hand, is to secure the elite division survival. The newcomers, though, were struggling at the back in pre-season, and we do not believe that they are capable of spoiling PSV’s party at Philips Stadion.
In their last encounter in the Eredivisie PSV defeated Emmen 2-0.
